Welcome to Maison de la Grange

Welcome to Maison de la Grange – Chambres & Table d'Hôtes, a character-filled 1800s home in the heart of the Creuse countryside where heritage, comfort, and hospitality come together. Our three guest rooms are individually designed using carefully selected antiques sourced through our own brocante, each inspired by an iconic French woman whose spirit is reflected in the décor and atmosphere.

Registered with Gîtes de France and available on Airbnb, we provide a high-quality, welcoming experience tailored especially for English-speaking travellers seeking both authenticity and ease.

La Chambre de Madame de Sévigné is our most spacious and refined offering—a private suite that reflects the elegance and literary charm of the 17th century. This room features a queen bed dressed in luxury linens, a beautiful antique armoire, and a comfortable sitting area that invites rest and reflection.
The private ensuite bathroom includes a deep soaking tub, ideal for unwinding after a day of travel, cycling, or exploring the region. The combination of exposed beams, soft lighting, and baroque-inspired furnishings creates a sense of timeless sophistication.
La Chambre de Madame de Pompadour captures the grace and artistic influence of the 18th century. This double room overlooks the garden and surrounding countryside, offering a peaceful and light-filled setting. Furnished with elegant antiques and styled with subtle Rococo touches, it provides a comfortable and romantic retreat. Guests in this room have access to a fully renovated shared bathroom, designed with modern comfort while maintaining the integrity and charm of the historic home.
La Chambre de Madame Dudevant (George Sand) offers a more intimate and quiet experience, inspired by the simplicity and rural connection of one of France's most celebrated writers. This single room is perfect for solo travellers, creatives, or those seeking a peaceful retreat. Antique furnishings, natural tones, and a cozy layout create a warm and restful environment. Guests share the same modern bathroom facilities, located conveniently nearby.

Your stay extends beyond the rooms themselves. Each morning, breakfast is included and served in our rustic kitchen or dining room, featuring fresh bread, pastries, fruit, coffee, and local products.

In the evenings, our Table d'Hôtes offers simple, generous meals inspired by regional cuisine—home-cooked dishes prepared with care and served with wine in a relaxed, communal setting.

As Canadians who relocated to France, we understand the needs of international guests navigating a new region. We offer optional airport pick-up and drop-off from Limoges, along with half-day or full-day driving tours, whether you wish to explore local markets, visit historic villages, discover brocantes, or begin your own house-hunting journey in the Creuse.

At Maison de la Grange, we aim to provide more than accommodation—we offer a thoughtful, coordinated, and welcoming French countryside experience designed to help you relax, explore, and feel at home.
